Why is “The Science of Reading” so important?

Ok, so “The Science of Reading” has been sweeping through some states in the last ten years. Many who have been in the education business for twenty or more years have seen the pendulum swing back and forth. I am here to report that in order for The United States to remain a powerful force then ALL school districts need to seriously start studying “The Science of Reading.” Here are the reasons.

1. The SOR is based on overwhelming evidence of what works for all students.
2. The SOR is based on overwhelming evidence from cognitive psychology.
3. The SOR is based on overwhelming evidence from neuroscience.
4. The SOR is based on EVIDENCE!
